Roe Ann's in Emmett

Every year there is a cruise in Emmett based at a local drive in called Roe Ann's. Everyone drives their old cars up and down the main strip in Emmett. The street is lined with people watching all the cars. We drove the '66 Mustang and Brian's parents drove their Model A. I didn't get any pictures of the cars, but these are a few pictures of us watching the cars go by.

My two cuties!

She looks a little annoyed in this picture. Probably because it was so hot.

2 Thumbs Up....Or Maybe a Little Sideways

As you can tell, Megan's thumbs aren't exactly straight. I didn't notice it until about 6 months ago. I told her to give me a thumbs up one day and this is what I got. I tried to straighten them for her but they won't budge. Her pediatrician recommended a hand doctor so we set an appointment to see him. The prognosis - congenital trigger thumb - on both thumbs.
The only way to fix them is with surgery. All they do is snip the sheath that is around her tendon and everything is fine. It is a day surgery, but she will have to go under because she is so young. The date set for the surgery is August 12.
We have been telling her that she is going to go to sleep and while she is sleeping, Dr. Robinson will fix her thumbs so they look like mom and dad's. She doesn't seem to be scared for now. Who knows what will happen when we get there for the surgery.
I'll make sure to keep everyone updated after the surgery and post pictures so she can show off her straight thumbs.

Playdate at Beni's

We went to Angie and Beni's house on Thursday for a playdate. The girls decorated princess crowns. Megan had so much fun. Thanks Angie!

4th of July Cruise

Over the 4th of July weekend, Brian entered his 1966 Mustang in the Northwest Motorfest. He had a good time admiring all the other cars. The night of the 5th we went downtown and cruised with all the other cars. They block of quite a few streets downtown for this cruise and there is always quite a crowd. As you can tell, Megan is enjoying herself on Tyler's lap.

Copycat

I can tell Megan wants to grow up so much faster than I want her to. She has to copy everything I do. She has to blow her hair dry, put makeup on, curl her hair. She always sees me after the shower with a towel on my head and decided she needed to do it to. It was such a cute picture I had to post it.

Party at CEI

Brian's work is very generous and threw Ashlyn a baby shower. So the girls and I headed over to CEI to enjoy some cake and show Ashlyn off. That was the best carrot cake I've ever had. Thanks Conveyor Engineering!!

Yummy cake!
Here she is enjoying her party.

Megan and her cheesey grins.

Swimming at the YMCA

While we had family in town a couple of weeks ago, we went to the YMCA in Caldwell. Megan wouldn't get in the water at first because everything was so loud. Kasidee finally convinced her she needed to swim and then we couldn't get her out to go home. I have video of her but it won't upload to the blog. She had such a good time.

I'm Tired

I had laid Ashlyn on her tummy the other day for some tummy time and this is what happened. Apparently she was too tired to do anything. Usually she gets fussy after a while because her tummy is not her favorite position, but she was too tired to even fight it.

Playdate with Trey

Apparently watching dvd's is more comfortable on Trey's back. Trey and Megan decided to watch The Letter Factory and Megan chose the best seat in the house - Trey's back. The funny thing was that he could have cared less. He just kept watching.
This picture cracked me up. Megan came out of Trey's room with this helmet on. Her eyes make it look like she really just got done with a fight. She has to put it on every time we go over. Thanks to Trey and Rebecca for a fun playdate.

Thank goodness Megan doesn't cook

I was in the living room the other day and heard Megan getting into the pretzels. At least that's all I thought it was. When I went into the kitchen, this is what I found. Fruit Loops, chips and pretzels. What a wonderful combination. And she was trying to eat them with a fork. Funny girl!

Pictures of the Girls

Both girls are asleep right now, which is a rarity, so I thought I would take advantage of the time and post a few pictures of them. I love them so much. They make me laugh every day.

Megan has become such a cheese ball. Every picture we take anymore has a silly grin. She loves Ashlyn so much and always wants to hold her.

This smile is acutally pretty good. I'm not sure what she was trying to show me with her fingers.

Ashlyn taking it easy on the couch . Her onsie says"I'm a little cutie". I have to agree. She is growing so fast and is so much fun. She coos and smiles all the time. It has been fun to see the differences between Megan and her.
